Cache file contents to speed access 1.0 script description:

Publisher review:
Cache file contents to speed access class caches the contents of a set of files and avoids reading files repeatedly from disk by holding onto the contents of each file as a list of strings. This class caches the contents of a set of files and avoids reading files repeatedly from disk by holding onto the contents of each file as a list of strings.

Some tasks require reading from a set of files in a random manner. Opening and reading files is a time consuming operation even when the operating system is caching the contents of the files in memory. Caching files explicitly can speed up processing greatly especially where the cached form is optimised for likely access patterns.
Cache file contents to speed access 1.0 is a Python script for File Management scripts design by Neil Hodgson. It runs on following operating system: Windows / Linux / Mac OS / BSD / Solaris.
